Fish Cleaning

We don't always remove the decorations when we change water in the fish tank. The water needs about a one third change every three or four weeks, although there is a very strong ecosystem in there, so it could last for twice that long. Every three changes or so we lift the decorations out to make sure we're vacuuming up the junk under them. You use a siphon to exchange water in a fish tank, which also acts as a gravel vacuum for picking up detritus that collects on the floor of the tank. The problem is, the snails get up inside those decorations and can be hard to get out.

This particular time we couldn't find Raven anywhere in the tank, so we knew she must be hiding in one of the decorations. But we definitely couldn't see her. So we were keeping an eye on it while it was sitting on the floor to see if she crawled out. Instead she was just sitting the with a guilty look on her face (I assume, because he face is pressed against the ground) when we lifted the decoration to put it back.
