	Wednesday, April 6, 2022 Hamster Challenge I've never had a hamster, but from what I've read they are not as smart as guinea pigs. Plus guinea pigs live way longer. That's why it's disappointing when people confuse the two. But I was surprised to read that a hamster can learn it's own name, just like a guinea pig does, although it's less common. Even our snails have distinct personalities, and they don't even have a brain depending on how you define it, so I shouldn't be surprised. Even though the pigs can seem super smart sometimes, they don't give the best impression when they drop a carrot and immediately forget where it went and ask for another. Or maybe they're actually being extra clever.
