	Wednesday, May 27, 2026 Real Plant I still use the fake plant in the comic because it fits conveniently in the panel and sets the scene. But actually we've had real plants in there for years. I'm not sure, but we may have gotten rid of the fake plants while we still had goldfish. We tried several different kinds of plant, including additional ones just like this one, but for some reason our original "amazon sword" plant is the only one that hung in there. It was just a sprig with five leaves when we first got it. These days I cut a salad-bowl full of leaves off of it every month or two, and it still fills about two thirds of the tank. The tetras love it because it has so many hiding places. Barely any room for decorations left!
