	Tuesday, April 29, 2025 Skipped a Day Keeping the cage clean is a daily job. Once per day I sweep out all of the "debris" off of the bedding blankets, and refill the hay, water bottles, and pellets. Twice per week I shake off the blankets and launder them, cycling through three sets because it takes three days for them to air-dry, since they're so absorbent. Once every couple of months I have to take everything out of the cage and scrub it down because grime builds up on the pigloos and food bowls. Once per year I buy a new cage liner, and a new pair of blankets, throwing away the oldest pair that no longer gets completely clean in the wash. If I miss a day, or even forget and miss a side, I'll be able to tell because things will start to pile up right away!
