Fuzzy
Fuzzy passed away yesterday, March 23rd, 2025. He was seven and a half years old. We are all so sad to see him go.
It came on quite suddenly. On Saturday morning he seemed his normal self, begging for food and eating with Potato and Bean. But on Saturday night he refused his dinner, which is a clear sign of a problem. We rushed him to the Urgent Care first thing in the morning, but there was nothing they could do. On examination they found many health problems, some we knew about and some we only suspected. We knew about his impaction and arthritis, and we weren't surprised to hear he had several small bladder stones. But perhaps what got him could have been the unidentified mass near his lungs. It had probably been growing for some time and finally reached a point where he couldn't take it anymore.
We are grateful that we all got the chance to see him and say goodbye that morning before he went to the vet where he passed. We knew it was serious, so we made sure he got plenty of happy ear scratches. Even though he was sometimes a grumpy pig, as shown in the comic, he really loved us and play time and ear scratches always made him happier. Potato and Bean noticed he was sick and probably figured out what happened. But they still seem a little confused and shy around each other. We will be giving them extra attention to help them cope.
In memory of Fuzzy, I will be sharing photos and stories of him on the website, just like I did for Guinea. Of course there are plenty of Fuzzy comics still to come in the backlog, as well as a new storyline I am working on. So we will all be able to spend more time with him virtually at least.
