Invisible Food
Any time we reach for the ground, the pigs assume we're placing food for them. It's not just because that's all they expect, it's also because they can't look down easily, so they often lose track of it when we do put down food. Which inevitably leads to disappointment when we don't.
That's also why they sometimes nip at our fingers and it can be hard to pick stuff up. They are just testing to see if you're holding food. They won't bite down, but it's disconcerting.
