Food Experiments
Cocoa beans are removed from their hard outer shell along with the cocoa fruit meat, and it is all fermented together. Once fermented, the beans are cleaned and dried and then cracked open and the cocoa nibs are removed. The nibs are then roasted until well done and ground into a fine cocoa powder. This powder is then either pressed, or simply mixed with sugar and other ingredients to form chocolate.
It is ironic that both of the foods the little pigs are named after aren't actually edible by guinea pigs. Of course we assume that Coco Bean is actually named after "cocoa," even though "Coco" is a name and not a plant. He's definitely not named after coconut.
